Ombudsman welcomes progress on treatment abroad schemes

Ombudsman Ger Deering spoke at the Irish Patients Association Conference last week, welcoming the improvements that have been made by the HSE in the administration of the Treatment Abroad scheme following his In Sickness and in Debt report earlier this year. Responding to queries from journalists, he said that he “has continued to liaise with the HSE since the report was published last April and has welcomed the progress being made by the HSE in implementing its recommendations.“ Media coverage of the event can be found in the Irish Examiner and the Irish Times .
