On Thursday 30 November Ombudsman Ger Deering led two workshops with representative groups on ‘Migrants & Persons seeking International Protection - Experiences of Public Services in Ireland’. We explained the role of the Ombudsman, and this was followed by a round table discussion on the issues the groups working in this field are dealing with.
These were the latest in a series of Workshops by the Ombudsman to listen to community, voluntary and civic groups, including those in the housing, disability, and Traveller and Roma sectors. The purpose of the workshops is to inform the Ombudsman about their experience of dealing with public service providers in Ireland.
